Hello friends of the GOG - the good old games or the GOG-people. Take the one you like more. Yes, the startup was terrible, and after reading the recommendations here I was not smarter than before.

But with a lot of fumbling, I brought it to work - and I hadn't to do any invasive steps in the code. First, I have Windows Vista 64bit with 8 GB ram and a 2 Dualcore processors and my graphicboard is an NVidia 9800 GT. Nothing special.

First thing I had to to, was to set compatibility mode to Win XP, and if I remind correctly, I set the colors to 256. In the cofiguration I choosed D3D and Miles 2 something - after several other trials. With these final steps, I brought the game up with correct graphics and readable fonts. Well they still are black and I never see, what I have chosen so sometimes I still need several trials to be sure, to be in the right option. I navigate these with the arrows, Enter and Escape.

Next problem: all four chars appear neatli by selecting them with arrows, but how to choose them? The dialog box "Are you sure Yes No" did not work. What a pity. But I found out a trick: when you have the char you want to play, then you have to press Escape and then you have to fumble, until you get start game, activate this with Enter and you get the startsequence and may begin your adventures.

BTW, it is possible to make saves and to load them, but you have to navigate around the menus, because they are not directly working. Saving is rather simple. Whenever you are in the game and want to save - it is recommended to make often saves, than you simply press Esc and after that Enter, then you have to navigate to game save (speichern) and the save is starting - you see at first an empty square, press once again enter and it saves, by bringing up some strangely colored picture. Loading is somewhat strange. I until now already had to fumble alot and needed generally about three to four repetitions until I got the system to reload.

Operating gamesave load: if I remind correctly, what is important, when you die, you cannot simply press ESC and then go to load savegame. You nee to restart the game. When you are back with the charpresentations, you have to press ESC and then Enter game and then once again Enter and then navigate to load savegame. Now it gets extremely strange. You should see a pic of a savegame. It is possible to manoeuvre between different savegames somehow including the TAB-key. When you have the savegame you want, you have to press ENTER and then you get a black screen, then you have once again to press TAB and ENTER. If you find the right combination of those keys, you get the system showing up a loadscreen. I am sorry, I can't describe this better, it's one of the situations where I still have to fumble for about three to four times until it works, but it does, otherwise I would have come as far as I am now.

I hope, this may help some other lovers of this cool game.

After that I had to check how to manoeuvre my char, but I am sure, every one who is able to get into the game, will be able to check these keys and combos himself.

But if someone still has difficulties with some moves, don't hesitate to ask me, perhaps I could lend a helping hand or info.
