I'm looking for any similar games on GoG. Even if they are not third person RPGs, anything similar to the Gold Box games that have that same dark aesthetic, difficult combat, occult themes as Severance. I'm really hoping this ends up back on GoG so I can purchase a legit copy but does anyone else know of anything similar I can get on here? I'd love to find some similar titles. Thanks.

I don't think there's another game similar in quality to Blade of Darkness. You could try Rune, but I didn't like it that much.

I loved this game. The game Sacrifice comes to mind when you asked this question. More focused on magic but I like the dark themes.

Definitely Rune (the original). Also American McGee's Alice and Drakan: Order of the Flame (and it's sequel Drakan: The Ancients Gate, but the sequel only came for consoles). However, both are not available on GOG, you have to buy them on Amazon etc. or "find" them on the internet.

I started The Lord of the Rings: War in the North and am finding it similar to BoD. Not quite the same but really nice.... I don't think it's available here on GOG though.

There are no other games like Blade of Darkness ("Blade: The Edge of Darkness", in spanish). It has a great combat system, IMO, much better than many other "similar" games that came after.

You might find some similarities in Crusader of Might and Magic, but the game itself isn't very good.
