I am almost 100% sure there was an intro, after the wall of text that get's us into the lore, before the main menu shows up. I don't belive it was cut, especially because there is .hns file in the game folder with it, but... why it's not showing properly?

Anyone has simillar problem?

There was no intro for me too and you're right it seems. There should be one:

Well... the game just came out so I can give it a little doubt, but... the intro is awesome! GOG, help!
The movie files are present in the installation in the "Hns" directory, they have the .hns extension.

What format it is I don't know, though, and the common media players cannot render them.

Hey, I am just wondering if you got rid of me as a friend?

I might have when I was cleaning friend list, yes. But I'm not really on Galaxy much, so not sure there is a point... Nor is necroing the topic for this. ;)

Hi, to access video/music you should procure disk images for the original game. You can find it on old-games dot ru, for example. Install the game using the images, patch it, make sure that the 2nd disk is mounted to your top letter virtual drive (e.g. if the VD lettering starts with E:, then the 2nd disk should be mounted to E:).
I compared the GOG version with the original version which comes with two CD-ROMs. After the installation of the original version, the first thing I noticed was that the second CD wasn't used for the installation process. I used the official patch to update the game directly after the installation. Then I looked at the second CD and it contained some Cryo website files and the "Hnm" folder with the .hns video files. When the game starts it asks for the second CD and it will play the video files from "Hnm" folder. The second CD is also a mixed-mode CD with redbook audio. This explains why the GOG version is using ogg-winmm to play the CD-DA audio tracks.

After some tests with the GOG version it looks like the noCD patch just removes the CD check, but it doesn't fully consider the video files on the second CD. The game probably still expects the video files on a CD. This looks like the reason why the video files are not playing although the "Hnm" folder is present in the game folder of the GOG version.

Here is what I did with the GOG version.

1. I used the official patch to get the file "Engine.exe".
Here is the official patch:
https://www.mediafire.com/file/a4krbygmgoc2ix4/bm13cen.zip/file
This is my mirror. I got the file from here:
https://www.patches-scrolls.de/patch/606/7/39102/download

Note: Within the .zip file there is a self-extracting archive. You can use 7-Zip or WinRAR to get the file.

2. In the folder "Lune noire" I renamed the existing "Engine.exe" to "Engine.exe.bak" and replaced it with the "Engine.exe" from the patch.

3. I took the "Hnm" folder as it is, created an ISO file which includes just this folder and used "BM_CD2" (without the quotation marks) as the label for the CD. This replaces the second CD with just the video files inside the "Hnm" folder.

4. I mounted the ISO file in a virtual CD drive.
Note: If you have multiple drives make sure it is mounted in the first one of these drives. It should work with Virtual CloneDrive or WinCDEmu.

After that I started the GOG version again with the desktop icon and I saw the Cryo logo video, the intro video and it also played the music tracks. I tested this with the English, German and French version on Windows 10 and 11 and I could the see the Cryo logo and intro videos with the method from above.

Thank you toma85, it helped. Shame on GOG for such lazy release.
I uploaded ISO with movies and engine file from patch:
