The black mirror comes on and says the adventure company, and then stops. Every time. Anyone know why this is happening?

I've had the same issue with Black Mirror. I bought the entire series in a sale a few weeks ago, installed BM 1 and tried launching it. I got the same black screen crash after the launch (within about 5 seconds). I'm running it on Windows 10 (couldn't find any useful feedback related to Windows 10, only Windows 7 and older). I also tried adding a DEP exception for the agds, and that didn't work. Are there any other possible solutions that anyone knows about? This is driving me mad! I was able to install and play BM2 without any problems or hiccups whatsoever, and I'll be testing BM3 today, though I imagine it's just a weird compatibility issue to the age of the game itself...

EDIT:
I went into the agds text file and replaced "800x600x32" with "800x600x16" and ran the program. It continued to the main menu and the sound is fine. HOWEVER, it looks like I now have an issue with the graphics? As I move the cursor around, it leaves imprints of either all or parts of the cursor all over the menu screen.
