I am in the catacombs and at that stage where I finished the extremely long and annoying shade puzzle only to find my progression blocked by a game glitch where it allowed me to put the

4 found burial items in the offering dish early (arrowhead, ship etc) before entering the tombs to the right. I thought it a bit weird that the dish didnt do anything but lower the chain with nothing in it. I exit the tomb to the right after working the shade puzzle and there is nothing to work out, no hot spots left other than the hieroglyphics. Reading the walkthrough, apparently this is when the dish is supposed to be activated and used with all the items. Im screwed and will have to go back and use a save file and rework that damn shade puzzle again with the risk that this will happen again.

anyone else have the same thing happen to them?

Sorry, my English is not so good, so I'm not sure if I understood you correctly.
You have to put the right items into the dish to get the right keys to the door. Some of them are beneath the dish from the beginning, some you find between the shades. The hieroglyphics give you a hint which items you should put into the dish. You must not put all items in there. You can try putting items into the dish as often as you want. But only the right items will give you the right keys to the door. If you put a wrong item in (even if all the other items are correct), you don*t get the keys. If you did it right, the chains will move so that you can take all the fitting keys out.

thanks for responding, my problem is that the dish appeared too early, I was able to put the 4 grave items in too early, the chain dropped and the canister opened. I then proceeded to get the remaining items from the tomb not realizing that the glitch had happened, when I returned the dish is no longer active and I can no longer work the puzzle to get the door key.

no worries, ive put the game aside for now as I cant be arsed with redoing that tomb puzzle again. cheers

Man, I've hit the exact same snag. It seems our only option is to backtrack and NOT put the items in the bowl next time, until we have them all. This really blows. LOL

this save game allowed me to finish the game. just follow his instructions and it works perfectly. you may have less inventory items, he didnt find the syringe earlier, but the game provides the item later in the game so no worries
