Once I arrived in the starting town and went to the southern region all characters in the game now look like they are speed running. Anyone else?

Any chance you pressed hotkey (Q) for Fast Mode? You can also turn it on/off by clicking the "Fast Mode" icon at the bottom right icon bar over the combat log.
