You don't need the windows 7 platform update for the classic versions. FWIW both classics ran great on an i3 4360 and GTX 970. Adding the -dx9 switch to the command line in the shortcut solved some graphics issues.

Thanks. But i answered my own question just a little while ago. I installed it on a pc with XP and it worked fine.

I was just about making my own thread about requirements. I want to know, how well the classic versions will run on Intel HD 3000 chip and Win 8?
