I've tried really hard to solve this issue. I've done some researches and tried so much ways to fix it... But this bug are probably deeply hardcoded! (or I'm a moron and missed something important)

And here's why I think that way:

- I launched the game with interface files from BS2RM (where's BA working perfectly) and that didn't solve it.
- I tried to do that in reverse - launched BS2RM with files from BS1RM... And brightness adjust worked pefectly!
- I launched BS1RM with interface files from original 2007 game, and brightness adjust didn't worked.
- I even launched the original 2007 BioShock with interface files from the remastered version... And brightness adjust
worked perfectly!

And after all that I checked ConfigINI.IBF for GUI settings... All settings are fine.

I'm sorry for this generally useless answer.
Hope someone can find a way to solve it. Hope I find a way someday.

All help that I can provide to you now - my mods that fixing some other bugs of BS1RM.

Hmm, brightness works for me. It has the in-game prompt after starting a new game and is in the menu.

A quick workaround for brightness is use your montior's built-in brightness settings to lighten the scene, OR use the gpu driver's built-in brightness/contrast/gamma settings. i.e. open nvidia panel adjust the settings there.

Might be worth checking the game's .ini file location and making SURE the actual file isn't read-only.

Nothing's overrides my settings. All of my ini-files are not read-only. And brightness adjust works perfectly in BioShock 2007, BioShock 2 Original and Remastered, and in any other game.

This is all very, very odd.

But... Can you send me some files from the game, such as: "NTSCColorBarsPC.swf" and "pausePC.swf"? And the GSC-files for it, if they're presented. You can find it here: Game's main folder/ContentBaked/PC/FlashMovies

Interested to look into GOG version and compare it to the Steam version.

Would ye koindly :)

And I'm seen a couple of times in playthroughs on YouTube that brightness adjust didn't worked.

I had the brightness slider working at the very start of beginning to playthrough, but it stopped working after I closed the game. Haven't been able to figure this out at all, so I just wanted to jump in hoping this will ping this topic to the top and see if we can get some answer that will work.

The slider is still there but does not adjust the brightness any longer.
