From what I understand you have to buy the jump kit for your hovercraft, then speed towards a barrier blocking access to the rest of the sea and jump over it with it with the right mouse button shortly before collision. That's all very well in theory, but for some reason I can't seem to manage it in practice. It's very hard to tell from that perspective how close you are to the barrier and the hovercraft jump is so weak, that I'm not even sure whether it would suffice to pass over the barrier, in any case it seems like ultimate precision is required.

Is it just me? What am I doing wrong? Do I have to find a special spot to jump over or should it work with any barrier everywhere? I already bought the jump kit, I'm using the speedcraft motor and even tried turbo boosters on top of it. But I always just bump into the barrier and damage my boat. :(

It is a bit fiddly to get the timing of the jump right, but it shouldn't be overly difficult. Maybe this video will help with the timing?
My solution was to go a bit slower, and to get the camera in a top-down view position. It makes it easier to estimate the jump. It is hard to get field perspective in the game.

Off topic problem: Does anyone know how to exit the slaughterhouse if you come back a second time? The code for the Slaughterhouse Entrance gate doesn't work, and I think I have to restart the entire game...

Yes, that was helpful, thanks. It encouraged me to try again and this time I attempted to jump across the barrier diagonally, which gave me a somewhat better perspective. I managed to do it on the first try. :)

Well, ok, at the race track I smashed into the barrier a few times again before succeeding, but at least now I know it's possible despite all the annoyances. ;)
