In classic BZ2 maps there was a path named edge_path that would go from one corner of the map to the other, the purpose of this path was to define the boundaries of the map, if you tried to move outside of the area this path covered you'd hit an invisible wall.

I've noticed in BZCC this path is now named path_1, why was the name changed ? and does it still do anything ?
edge_path should still exist and function correctly. Which map were you looking at path_1 on?
2 maps actually, the instant action version of Bridges (bridges2i.bzn) and the strat map Ground 4 (ground4.bzn), I checked other paths on the bridges map and they all seemed to be named correctly.

I'll check a few more maps and see if they are the same.
Ok so this is weird, I've just gone back and checked the maps and in Bridges IA it's definately called path_1, but all the other maps I checked had an edge_path, except for ground 4 which doesn't seem to have an edge path at all.

I wonder if I changed something when messing about in the editor ?

could someone check these maps for me and see if they get the same results ?
I've reinstalled BZCC and can confirm that the edge_path in bridges IA is named path_1 but in all the other maps I've checked it's called edge_path, not sure if this an oversight or what.

In that case it seems edge_path still works. If Bridges uses path_1 then either that conveniently works somehow (god knows how, path_1 in other maps doesn't work the same way, maybe it works by default?) or Bridges is just conveniently the right size anyway.
yeah I dunno what's going on there but it doesn't seem to cause any issues, I thought I was going mad there for a moment, seems like I just picked the wrong map to start messing about with, it's probably been like that since BZ2 1.0 only nobody noticed.
As I remember it, in the old days of the first version of BZ2, you could start the editor with a blank map (maybe I'm thinking of bz1, honestly I don't remember). Every tutorial I have found shows opening an existing map, then deleting everything and flattening the terrain to start over. Wouldn't it make more sense to have a blank map in the size that you want, and be able to start from scratch?
