Is it possible to play LAN without the need for Galaxy to be installed?

I've raised this with the devs as it was also raised on Steam, will let you know when I find out more :)

I gotta say, having LAN support without the need for any third-party program that may or may not exist in the future is a great boon, for both games and the people who desire to play them, older or newer, now or in the future.

Galaxy is a good service, but I do want the option to play with friends when Galaxy isn't available for one reason or another. Already experienced the inability to access LAN with another older but recently updated Galaxy-tied game when services were inaccessible due to some GOG-side issue, so I'd definitely want the devs to keep this in mind.

I already get these kinds of issues with Steam services, especially when I'm in a location with less-than-good internet access, so I generally expect better and more accessible LAN options not tied down to internet-only services when it comes to a game here at GOG, for obvious reasons.

Same here. Galaxy is supposed to be OPTIONAL and for LAN play, it should be!
Hm, I think with the most recent update, it works now.

TESTED:
- deactivated/quit GoG Galaxy
- launched the game
- alt-tabbed out (which was actually pretty difficult)
- verified: no Galaxy had been launched
- went back into the game
- pressed "multiplayer"
- game found several online games and I could switch to LAN only as well
- alt-tabbed out (which was actually pretty difficult)
- verified: still no Galaxy launched

It seems that everything works as it should now.
Note of course that I still have Galaxy installed, for full verification we would need to test this on a "clean" PC.

Well anyway, the next LAN party can come.
