As the subject: What is the mod Roguetech about? What does it change, what does it add, what does it take away - how does it change things up compared with normal Battletech?
Cut and pastes from the NexusMods site and RogueTech wiki page:

This mod is set in an alternate timeline, taking place after the 4th Succession and the War of 3039, when the wide spread use of the technologies from the Helm Core appearing around the sphere and beyond.

THIS MOD IS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE EASY, ENEMIES ARE SMARTER, PUSH THE LIMITS OF THEIR MECHS, AND WOULD LOVE TO GUT YOUR MECH LANCE FROM THE REAR IF YOU LET THEM.

I mean, how fair would it be to just have the player have all these fancy toys?

----

Highlights

- Big, RogueLike, Sandbox Experience
- Rebalanced Sim and Combat game, to give you a harsher world.
- More Mech's: From the pirate commando with infernos, to the Massive KingCrab-0001 with twin Gauss rifles, face off against all kinds of enemy's.
- With the great houses scrambling for superiority and unlocking the secrets of Helm, new weapons arrive on the battlefield, but nothing is cheap.
- Tonnage means nothing!, Everything is balanced around what your Lance costs, not what it weights
- Massive custom campaign difficulty options

Not quite topic related but still: I'd be happy to get help with installing mods on gog 1.8 version. The game simply doesn't "see" mods. Is there any special way or directory to install them in?

For Windows, readme is at DRIVELETTER\Users\USERNAME\Documents\My Games\BattleTech\mods\HBS\Mod_Support_-_README.pdf
Some mods simply don't appear and require ModTek to load them. This will come with its own readme.
