1. Does this game have LAN multiplayer? When it comes to multiplayer I am not interested in online and I usually just play with people in my household. I would prefer not having to connect to the internet to do this, as the internet in my area is not fantastic and it is prone to randomly dropping.

2. If the game has LAN Multiplayer, does it require that you first sign into an online account (DRM) or is it like many old school games that could be played locally with one copy. I am asking this because I made the mistake of buying Age of Wonders 3 when it came out a few years ago, because the developers advertised that it had LAN play and i assumed that it was like the older titles. When it turned out that you had to sign in to an online account to play LAN, I felt that I had been tricked by the developer and betrayed by GOG. I have been wary of so called DRM free titles.
IIRC matchmaking is handled via an external server, most likely hosted by either HBG or Paradox. Not sure if LAN multiplayer even exists in the current builds.

Your best bet is probably asking in the developer's forums, https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/index.php?forums/battletech.994/

Thanks for the link :). I will post there now and reply back to this topic with their answer, when/if they answer my question.
I really hope they add true LAN multiplayer. That way I could play it with family and friends without eating up badnwidth or relying on a remote server. It would be nice not being forced to rely on an internet connection. Our local internet is not very reliable and has fairly frequent outages for both of the ISPs that serve this area.
