So, the Steam release (aka "Battle Realms Zen Edition") is getting an official patch 1.56:

The current version on that store already has some fixes and widescreen support. I wonder if these will be available for us, gog users, eventually.

Would like to give this question a +1! I would like to buy on GOG, but the version on GOG is far older. Any chance to bring this onto the platform?

It might be worth sending a message to GOG support asking if they can chase it up. Or even message the devs. Both options have been known to work (for other games) in the past.
