Hey everyone,

Firstly a huge thank you to everyone who has been so supportive during the launch! We've been overwhelmed by your comments, messages, tweets on Twitter and discussions in Discord. We're thrilled with the reactions to Battle Princess Madelyn so far!

The team at Causal Bit Games Inc have been looking into the few bugs missed during initial testing and these have now been resolved and patched. They are also adding in a hint system to explain the controls as well as a compass for your dog! This compass will lead you to where hidden quest items may be behind walls.

Some of the bug fixes include :
> Being able to go back to the island in 5a - the cliffs of sorrow (this should have been blocked as you don't need to go back)
> Tuning of a few objects
> Some rare issues with savegames (completing story mode can lock your save data)
> We know there are some issues with unsupported controllers and will update you with the patch

If you do continue to stumble into anything you feel may be a bug, please do let us know by completing the this form. The team will review it ASAP.

Once again, from everyone at Causal Bit Games and Hound Picked Games, thank you for your support. We'll be using this thread for all patch and content updates in the future.

Hey everyone,

Patch 1.0.3 has been submitted to GOG for review. Hopefully this will be live soon.

Please see below for the most recent updates:
> Arcade and Story mode order flipped on the menu menu. This is to allow first time players to ease right into the action and experience some of the upgrades you get later on in story mode.
> Fixed a glitch where the Cliffs of Sorrow sunken boat could prevent progress if events are done out of order in story mode.
> Arcade loot drop rate tweaked to give more chances of Fritzy ranged attack powers. This is a timed effect potion that does not drain MP, unlike Fritzy shots in story mode.
> Fixed extra NPC hint characters appearing when their text is not yet localised.
> Fixed a rare bug where player character would respawn off-screen in story mode when changing levels.
> Removed the enemy from Germany forest in story mode that could block your path if your weapons were not upgraded or you were missing any wide range or melee versions.

If you do continue to stumble into anything you feel may be a bug, please do let us know by completing this form. The team will review it ASAP.

Hey everyone,

You probably noticed that over the weekend, there was an update to Battle Princess Madelyn. Here's a run down of what was fixed and tweaked:

>Tweaked the weapon pickups to fix an issue in arcade mode where dropped loot will fall through floors or incorrect sprites.
>Fixed Bill's Book as it sometimes did not show up with random spawn. It now appears at a fixed location in the Cliffs of Sorrow
>Fixed a mid-level boss in the final stage of story mode not closing the door
>Fixed a crash where going to the hidden stage from title screen could freeze the game
>Fixed the hidden stage cutscene ending before pressing a button
>Faster loading to title screen
>Beating witches takes you straight to castle courtyard
>Fixed a bug that could cause save file corruption at doors and NPC's
>Hints now enabled in non-ENG languages.
>Boss deaths now correctly give achievements, notably the tree boss should give an achievement for anyone who has beaten it before.
>Warp screen scrolling increased.
>Talking to people who give weapons or keys will make sure you have them after talking, rather than waiting for a spawned item to touch you.
>Decreased the difficulty of earlier parts in story mode.
>More directional hints in arcade and story areas where players often got lost.

As always, thank you so much for continuously feeding back to us here, on the Steam forums, and via our Discord server.

Changelog for Update 1.21 (added 19 February 2019):

We've listened to your feedback, heard your cries for more, and more. This is what you'll get!

More options!
More features!
More everything!
Now with a highlighted map in story mode, there's a Quest Log to aid you on your journey. We’ve even added teleporting you to the nearest rune stone alongside these new features in the pause menu. With a new hint system too, the game is far smoother and sleeker to play, not to mention the added language selection, rumble option and volume sliders, bringing it to a whole dynamic new level.

The original layout of the game was a little tricky for some, so we've adapted to your feedback here too, making the story mode terrain far easier to navigate. Included are features such as a well to help you find your way to the Spider's Lair (instead of just dropping down blindly) and a clearer route to the Sunken Pathway through The Witches’ Cave. We feel this adds direction and we hope you find the game a far more streamlined playing experience.

What we've got in store for you:

King Daddy Mode!
* Step into the boots of Madelyn’s father, King Daddy!
* You have King Daddy’s Sword, aka Insanity’s Blade. You will battle through hordes of the undead. You are given zero projectiles aside from Fritzy’s power ups. You are going to find this extremely difficult!
* There's a surprise at the end for King Daddy, so stick around!

Boss Rush Mode!
* Simple! Grab your favorite weapon and fight the bosses back-to-back. So what are you waiting for? Get out there and bash some ghosts!.

The update is ready and waiting for you in your GOG library, so what are you waiting for?
This game is FULLY BUGGED and a complete waste of time, because you can't progress. I am seriously pissed at this crap game. I make games like this myself with almost zero bugs. You guys are seriously bad.

A huge problem is that new players do not know when they encounter a bug and keep playing for hours to try to figure out where they have to go. I wasted a whole day with this trash.

All bugs are story mode related:
First bug:
First boss got stuck left of the screen doing nothing. This happened when I tried to figure out how to beat him by running through to the right of him during one of his attack (I got also hit a lot doing that). I thought I had to jump on his sword when he hits the ground. But all I had to do is walk between his legs which do not hurt at some points of his animations but do hurt at other parts of the animation and shoot up. This is bad design. He should use his sword to attack between his legs instead of making his legs sometimes do damage and sometimes not. Or at least put his legs on fire or something. Right now it's just utterly bad game design. So after dying and the retrying the boss I could do it bug free and kill him.

This is not a bug just my five cent: Having air control (steering in air) ruins the game and makes it boring as fuck. I know you don't want to copy super ghost n ghouls too much, but the air control really kills the fun in the game fast. I do like that I can aim up and down. That is a good addition to the super ghost n ghouls system.

more bugs bugs and bugs (I am sure there are plenty of bugs I am not aware of):
Lets start with the bugs I am aware of: I can't open the door to the boss in hightide. I got a boss key from the statue in the boss level, and I got the stuffed chicken in that dungeon but I was not able to open the boss door. My boss key count tells me I got one boss key and 3 normal keys. I remember that I got normal keys before but wasn't able to open some normal doors. But I didn't think much about it because I thought I maybe got the wrong key. Anyway, so I will never be able to beat boss 3. I saved the kid in the underwater entrance dungeon thing. But the towns folk is still asking me to rescue a child. I talked to them after saving the child btw. The guy is in the top right of the town. On another website the dev wrote the guy is bottom left of the waypoint. But there is no one standing in the water to the bottom left.

I found many ghosts, but I have no idea what they give me. Maybe dolls? No idea it is not indicated when I open the chests. This is either bad game design or they only give me money? Killed spider boss found hammerm spoon and many items I can't give anyone yet.

So because I wasn't able to fight the boss and at that point just was confused and not sure if that is a bug I just kept going right searching for what to do next because I couldn't fight that boss. So then I got to lava land and got the boss key from a statue again and AGAIN was not able to open the boss door. So I kept going right. The next boss I was able to beat was the zombie boar. And then I ended up in the ship town, did some things there.

Then I got the weapon upgrades to max level which do nothing? Or the damage is random I guess. Was a huge suprise when I got the upgrade.

So far my weapons are the dagger and the spear, the same weapons I had at the beginning and do exactly the same thing. The dog does nothing except bark when the skeleton hand is on top of the screen pointing to a thing which I all got so far. I killed the witches got some stitch bot parts.

Some minor bugs: Weapons hit boxes seem to be too big, because when jumping with the head onto the ceiling and throwing them foward, they hit the ceiling. Also it is possible to throw them through walls when standing right next to a wall. You can shoot enemies and jars through walls and floors that are not supposed to let projectiles through.

The artwork in the game is fantastic. The first boss looks a bit too childish for me, but the artwork is outstanding in the game. Excellent job on that. Too bad the game has the worst bugs and is utterly broken and unplayable (you can't finish the game and the player doesn't even know it!!! THIS MUST BE NOTICED IN TESTING!!! THIS IS WHAT KILLS YOUR REPUTATION!!! THIS IS WORSE THEN THE GAME CRASHING AT A CERTAIN POINT IN THE GAME! IT'S WASTING SO MANY PEOPLES TIME AND DAYS OF THEIR LIFE!!!).

As a game dev I can tell those bugs are due to bad coding. Whoever wrote the code is bad at coding and writes dirty code. You have to code clean, because fixing the bugs now is a huge mess and litteral patches doing checks in the code in ineffecient ways. These bugs are things that should have been in the mind of the dev before writing the code. There are probably so many bugs in this game now, it's barely possible to find them all...

I can't tell you how much I am disappointed in this product...

PS: forgot to mention the keyring. That's the first item I got. Because people in this game are long winded I skip most dialog as fast as I can. But I never was able to see again what the keyring does. I thought there was a short description in the inventory, but for some reason there is nowhere a short description what an item does.
All I can tell is that the keyring sometimes blinks when I get closer to a certain location. And sometimes it doesn't when I get closer to the same location. I hope it is supposed to be random. And I hope I am just missing something to do at that blinking location. Because so far it's A) random and B) I can't do anything with it.

Any chance to add achievements?
Thank you so much, yet some of these bugs are still there on my current playthrough... maybe I should start a new one from scratch in order to get rid of them...

Hi!

There are errors, line breaks and text out of place in the Spanish translation (''subtitles'') in the last update (version 1.21).

Thank You Very Much! ;)
