Hi,

When trying to play History Line and a couple of the earlier Battle Isle games I get brief intro and then a dosbox error and it closes. Are there any dependecies for Dosbox (recently rebuilt machine so still adding updates) or does the graphic configuration need to be run in any particular setup?

Using XP and didn't use the defaul install path (in case that matters).

BI3 and Incubation appear to be fine.

This is a stretch, but you are using the desktop shortcut, that GOG installed? Apart from that I have no idea. They worked fine for me (XP).

You can try playing the old Battle Isle games without dosbox. Just double-click on the executetable file in the folder (battle for the original, desert for the expansion, ... ) and try if the game works.

Having tried it on a different machine it works fine. My other Dosbox games have stopped working as well so I suspect a driver issue. The likely culprit seems to be the Asus Xonar DS soundcard as I've had more modern games have problems with it and emulating Creative cards. Mainly EAX but the drivers seem to be poor generally.

Have you tried using different graphical output mode in Dosbox configuration?
