How do I install BB?

The game installer is 1.1.0.8 (appearing twice), then there are patch installers taking BB from 1.5.0.14 to 1.5.1.4 (again appearing twice), from 1.5.1.4 to 1.5.1.5, and from 1.5.1.5 to 1.5.1.6, and finally there are the DLC installers, all for version 1.5.1.7.
From what I can see, 1.5.1.7 seems to be the most recent version.

What is the most recent GOG version, and how do I get BB there? Don't tell me to use Galaxy.

Something smells fishy here. 1.5.1.7 is (or was) the latest GOG build of Battle Brothers, but for some reason it was replaced by version 1.1.0.8 a few days ago. The real Version 1.1.08, released in 2019, and was 1.1GB in size, but the more recent one is 1.3GB in size, two times over. See the GOGDB page to see what I mean.
Did GOG make an error somewhere, as 1.5.1.7 is the most recent version everywhere, for everyone; the developers are busy working on their new project, so there should have been no 'update'.
Are you, or anyone else, able to download and install the most recent offline installer to see what version it actually is, and send a report to GOG if necessary?
If, as I fear, something stupid has happened, and you don't want to use Galaxy to revert BB to a previous patch (that is actually the latest patch, 1.5.1.7), you may be forced to either wait patiently or demand satisfaction...

Thanks - especially for reminding me of the "do easy things first (and do them before posting)" rule :-).

I just had a quick look: When I click the first 1.1.0.8 entry the file offered for downloading is 1.5.1.7, clicking the second one displays an error message (file not available), the other downloads (patches and DLCs) seem to be exactly what they say they are. The last patch, 1.5.1.6 to 1.5.1.7, seems to be missing.

I'll install the 1.5.1.7 setup later today, but I'm pretty sure it will give me the real BB 1.5.1.7 indeed - will confirm later. I guess it's a simple human mistake, and the missing patch file "1.5.1.6 to 1.5.1.7" will be added soon.

Update:
1.5.1.7 installs fine. As far as this file is concerned, the description "1.1.0.8" is simply wrong and should be "1.5.1.7".

In addition, I noticed that there is a thread "Patch 1.5.1.7 is missing" on this forum, dated May 2025 (which didn't get a reply). It shows that this BB patch has been missing for about 6 months. On the other hand, the 1.5.1.7 installation files for the DLCs are listed.
So, it was human error in the end, then; with it functioning as intended with all being well, even if there is still a missing patch from x.6 to x.7?

Just for clarification, GOGDB states that the file inexplicably doubled to 2.6GB. The file you had to download was only 1.3GB in size with the other half being attributed to that error-producing unavailable file, right?
What caused the wrong version number, I can't say.

In the Installer Download section, there are two "Battle Brothers 1.1.0.8" installers shown, both with a file size of 1.2 GB.
When you click the first one, you're offered to download "setup_battle_brothers_1.5.1.7_(81921).exe", and when you click the second one, you get an error message saying that "setup_battle_brothers_1.1.0.8_(17771)_(g).exe" doesn't exist.
When I downloaded and ran "setup_battle_brothers_1.5.1.7_(81921).exe", it installed BB 1.5.1.7.

I don't know why the "1.5.1.6 to 1.5.1.7 patch" is missing, and I don't know why the "Missing Patch 1.5.1.7" post dated May 27, 2025 didn't receive a reply.
The patch was released on Steam on April 30, 2025, that is about 4 weeks before that post. Such a delay isn't unusual for GOG, be it that they receive the patch later than Steam, be it that they perform some testing before releasing it (which I would appreciate).

As far as I'm concerned, the issue is solved (and I shouldn't have posted it in the first place - but perhaps it helps others)..

Although it seems like it was a waste of everyone's time because the matter is now resolved and the offline installers now properly updated to their proper version of 1.5.1.7, no, I think that you should have never posted. This wasn't an isolated case! Thanks to you increasing the visibility of this, it's possible that, without the reports of yourself and others, this annoyance would have gone unnoticed for longer.
Anyway, that's it from me. Take it easy.

Great - looks like someone at GOG has been reading this thread! :-)

The first BB entry on the list has been corrected to display 1.5.1.7, and the second entry removed. But the "1.5.1.6 to 1.5.1.7" patch is still missing. But I'm convinced this will be fixed, too, eventually - now that the issue has found attention.

PS: "I should not have posted" means I should and could have found out myself, by simply clicking the two wrong BB 1.0.1.8 entries, which would have shown me immediately what was wrong. Thanks for opening my eyes!
