Very sorry about the delay. :(

No, it's not a matter of DRM-free. Due to critical bug found by Telltale at the last minute we were not able to release the game on September 20. We needed that issue to be resolved before we could stand behind the game, since we provide technical support for you guys, for all titles released on GOG.com.

Of course I can't speak for the state of the launch build on other digital platforms but from the feedback I see on forums elsewhere they all dealt with pretty much the exact thing we avoided.

did this get unlocked yet, because every time I've logged onto the game today, episode 2 is still locked and says "coming soon".

EDIT: Fixed. Close and reopened GoG for the up-teenth time and it updated.

It seems I've found a solution for this one.
Had to change the update process from automatic to manual and back again to automatic. That seemed to have fixed it.
