I understand that there are x32 and x64 versions of the game. Can anyone confirm whether the GOG version includes the 64-bit .exe? Thanks.

Also, a proper review would be nice once someone has had a chance to play it extensively. Unfortunately the reviews on GOG have largely become a useless mix of nostalgia and opinion, and I can't find anything comprehensive out in Internetland.

I have no idea if other outlets have an actual 64 bit exe or not. My GoG bookshelf gave me only a "Windows Installer, English" option - eg I have no idea if it defaulted to a 64 download via the site magically knowing what rig I'm using.

The GoG folder has a single Application.exe and some x64 .dll's in the install directory.

Runtime-x64.dll
VideoDx9-x64.dll
VideoDX11-x64.dll

(Edit)It may detect which you have when installing. There are no x32 .dll's in my folder.

I'm not sure either, but I've installed it and have it running, and my system is 64 bit.
I know, I'm not much help. :)
Thanks for the quick responses. I was reading about the size of the Steam version and someone said it was because it contained both x32 & x64 versions, another said it only contained .exe files for the two versions but 98 Mb of DirectX redistributables.

But if the GOG version has x64 dll's it looks as though it has a 64-bit version.
You can check the "bitness" of a running program using a tool like process hacker (which has a no-install download option available) or a command line program like GNU file.

It all satisfies me! Thanks to everyone who took the time to respond. I'll be buying Banished, but I think I'd better try to finish Eador first...if it doesn't finish me first.
