I've been hitting "printscreen" regularly to generate screenshots (as specified in the keybindings) but can't seem to find the results. There's a "banished" folder in "my documents" but only the saves are there, no screenshots. I checked the game directory itself, and "my pictures" but turned up nothing obvious. Can anyone point me to where the game is stashing these? I'm on Win 7 64-bit.

When you first enter the game you need to go into the opitons tab. Under options there are 4 tabs on the top, the far right one is a finger pointing up and says input, click that one. Under input scroll down until you see "Screenshot (No UI)" it will show PrntScr on a tab next to it. Click the PrntScr tab and rebind it to another key (I chose NumLK)

After rebind it to a new key you can load a game and press NumLK and it will save your screen shots. You can find the screenshots under My documents>Banished>Screenshots

Good Luck!

When you capture a screenshot in game for the first time, it should create a Screenshots folder beneath My Documents > banished. The screenshots should appear in this folder as .bmp files.

This even worked for me when running Banished on my Macbook Pro using Wineskin.
The theme is pretty old, but anyway... I found my screenshots in C:\Users\user\Documents\GOGGalaxy\Screenshots\Grim Dawn, but when I open one of them - it is just a black screen... I'm plying GD using GOG Galaxy. Is there any way to save may screenshots properly without using any other third-party software?

Thanks for the answer(s) in advance.

This is the game forum for Banished, not Grim Dawn.

But Galaxy does have a built-in screenshot feature, as far as I know -- I just can't tell you what the hotkey is, having never used Galaxy.

Really sorry, I posted in the wrong forum, but thank you for the answer. In GOG Galaxy the dedicated key is F12 but it doesn't work properly - makes 2 shots per keystroke, and they are always black screens. Currently, I'm using PrtScr + Paint.

No problem. Sorry I misinterpreted your question. :)

A little more looking around seems to indicate that there really isn't a proper built-in screen-capture feature for Grim Dawn, and that a lot of other people have just been doing it like you have. However, you might try this suggestion, assuming you really don't want to install some simple utility like Fraps.

Thank you again for your help. The approach in the link you gave me worked fine :). Hope, the people working on Galaxy will fix the f12 bug in the near future.

In my Googling earlier, I saw Steam users report the same problem. In other words, it's not an issue with the clients, but with how the game's display output works. But I'm glad to hear the simple workaround worked for you. :)
