Okay, so I think that the Golem Slayer did not disappear. I think I was just doing an experiment, and after reloading, I simply decided not to ask the appropriate question to get the sword until I needed it. Anyway, there's another one on the map in a chest that you have to place something into. It had the same exact stats.
However, the Strange Thaler I got from my chest at Granpa's house did disappear, but I figured out how to reproduce the glitch when I found more Strange Thalers.
In the Safespace, I had put the Strangle Thaler into a chest from my inventory using the ALT Left-click hotkey, but I don't think you have to do that step. I think it only needs to be in a chest, but I didn't really test a bunch different things. I was in the safespace when I saw this happen.
To reproduce the glitch: ALT L-click the Strange Thaler while it is in a chest. It disappears, and you cannot recover it. I had only one chest open at the time of confirming this glitch.
As we all know, merely R-clicking an object in any chest is the hotkey to make it go to one's inventory. ALT L-clicking is the hotkey to make an object go into a chest from one's inventory or even to make it hop from one chest into a different opened chest when you have more than one opened chest on the screen. So if you have two chests opened, and you ALT L-click an item in one chest, it will hop into the other chest, provided there is an open space. I did NOT try that with the Strange Thaler. I had only one chest open at the time when I ALT L-clicked it inside of the chest, and it simply disappears never to be found again. Oh, and it does not matter the number of Strange Thalers shown. The item simply disappears.
So, I just started this game, and I've had the strange thaler disappear as well as the golem slayer sword.
Is there any way for me to maybe do a console command or cheat code to get those items back. From what I understand, I'll find other strange thalers at some point, but the golem slayer sword is for fighting golems, which I can't do now because it disappeared for some reason.
