I don't have this game on gog so I don't know how they configured it but you could try bosloader, it works for my cdrom copy.

GOG version uses BOS loader already but that looks like bad runtime installation or lack of it, many games often replace libraries with other versions or might be not installed specified one, try install game to any D or C folder except system folders first from Galaxy then use installer.

Solved it.
in the game folder instead of starting the game from the file called "launcher" I started the game from the file called "bos"
Works great now.
I can't mark my own post as solution so I will just leave it.
