My hard versions of baldur's gate/baldur's gate 2 do not work with windows 7 on the account that they run very poorly (i think it's something with a ram issue).

Does GOG's version solve this? I'd love to play this game again and i hear bg2 is being released here.

Check this thread out. The answer appears to be Yes, with the possibility of an nVidia problem for which a fix is also suggested.

Been playing it for days on Win7 64 bit without issues. Vanilla install (no mods). Currently doing a bunch of quests in Baldur's Gate.
You bet your ass it does! I played through the entire game on a Win 7 64 bit machine with no issues. Twice. With no mods except widescreen.
Yes it does. Perfectly. And modded that is.
Go for it.

ps :i have win 7 ult 64 b
Have you successfully played Multiplayer? I just installed BG on my Win 7 64 and my son's Vista. Game runs in single player but crashes (black screen, unresponsive) in multiplayer (which is the main reason I picked it up - to play with my son), I haven't tried GameRanger (saw that in a few places). It does this on both systems regardless of who is hosting.

FOLLOWUP - Alt-Enter (to windowed mode) to join, then Alt-Enter (to full screen) once the game starts in multiplayer worked for both Windows 7 and Vista. Game runs great other than that.

If I may ask, what made you decide to go modless?

Was waiting for the release of BG2 (and hoping it was going to come quickly on the heels of BG1) with the intent to install BGT, then when BG2 was eventually released I was far enough into it to not want to start over.
