Hi, I've just downloaded the widescreen mod for BG, and set it to 1024 x 780, but when I load the game, it isn't full screen - the game screen is in the top left corner of my monitor, and the rest of the screen is black. Can anyone help with this please?

Non-standard resolutions are not supported in full screen, and 1024x780 is a non-standard resolution. Try uninstalling the mod and re-install with the standard resolution 1024x768. Either that, or try it in windowed mode, where non-standard resolutions may work. The first option is the ideal one.

Thanks for the reply :) Unfortunately, I still can't get it to work. I re-ran the widescreen mod so that it was set to 1024x768, but now when I click on the icon to start the game, the screen goes black, then drops back to the desktop. The BG logo is still in the bar at the bottom, and clicking on it makes the exact same thing happen. So I can't even get into the game to try and change it to windowed mode, unless there's another way of doing it?
I just tried changing the resolution on the widescreen mod to 1920x1080, which is my desktop resolution, and the game loads this time, but the same thing happens with the game screen being in the top left hand corner. Is 1920x1080 considered a standard res?

Then it looks like you need to set your desktop/gpu scaling in your video card control panel. For nVidia, for example, you would set 'Adjust Desktop Size and Position' >> 'Aspect Ratio' >> 'Perform Scaling on GPU' >> 'Override Scaling set by games'.

Thanks again for the help, but for some reason it won't let me do that. If I select those choices, then press apply, the options automatically reset themselves. I really appreciate the help, sorry I'm being a pain!

Do you have a folder called 'nVidia Corporation' in your C:\ProgramData folder? If so, delete it. Note that you will need to be logged in to an account with administrative privileges.

It won't let me delete it, it says it's using a file or folder that is being used elsewhere, even though I have nothing else open. I also closed the Nvidia panel you get on the bottom right. Thanks very much for the help, but I'll just wait for a sale or a drop in price and get the enhanced editions, this is more trouble than it's worth!

I understand.
