Like most, I too am a Baldurs Gate fan. Purchased it back when it first released and been playing it ever since.

Without thinking, because Ive read the posts about problems with Vista and Windows 7, I recently purchased a new hp laptop with Windows 7. Afterwards, I purchased a new Baldurs gate and installed it. Everything worked well until I attempted to use some cheats. Tried everything: installed it using a nother path, brought down the user security level, etc. For some reason the CLUA wont pop up for me no matter how many times I press the CTRL-TAB. Can anyone please help a brother out? Guide me down the path of cheating heaven?

I did place the "Cheats=1" in the right selection but it still wont work.
I think in vanilla BG1 (no TuTu or BGT) you have to press Ctrl-Space to open the console.
I'm playing the BG1+2 combo right now and I was stuck at that damned Kirinhale so I decided to use cheats a bit. Add "DebugMode=1" in baldur.ini under [Program Options] and then in-game just press Ctrl+Space to open up the console dialog.

You say you added the "Cheats=1" in the right place, in the Baldur.ini file right? Well, did you get the right Baldur.ini?

I made this mistake and it was frustrating enough until I found that In win 7 for some reason there are two of them. The 1st one most people find is at

C:\Program Files (x86)\GOG.com\Baldurs Gate

BUT the one that has to be changed is actually at

C:\Users\<your user name>\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\GOG.com\Baldurs Gate

Change the Baldur.ini in that file and all should work :)
Just recently purchased BG EE 1 & 2 out of my love for the originals so many years ago. I can't seem to get the CLUA to work according to earlier posts. This may be a Windows 10 issue. I actually can't find the .ini file anywhere. I've posted a screenshot of the folder's file options. Would appreciate any insight.

The Enhanced Editions have their user data stored in '..\My Documents\Baldur's Gate - Enhanced Edition\" and '..\My Documents\Baldur's Gate II - Enhanced Edition\", and the ini files have a completely different structure. To enable the cheat console in these editions you need to add the line as follows (case sensitive):

INSERT INTO options ROWS (
'Program Options', 'Debug Mode', '1',
