Any reason why I can't add the original version of the game to my GoG libary instead of getting it from the enhanced edition? You could with the first game, did they no longer allow you to add the orignal version of the second game next to the enhanced edition anymore?

Because Beamdog, right after cr@pping on the series ("enhancing" it with ambiguous content staight outta from a failed D&D campaign writer named "Amber Scott", turning characters into walking memes of SJW bull, attacking fans expressing criticism, censoring reviews in Steam after which their entire review system changed, then begging for positive reviews), in order to mitigate the damage done, company rep going abysmal and sales lost, they tied the old games together with their new inferior junk... So as to BLACKMAIL anyone who wants the old games, to buy (at triple price) their sheety junk first, "paywall-esque-fashion".

If you are a latecomer, you missed some huge flamewars here, in the past... Good for you, really. Also, there had been a way to get the originals and get a refund, but after me discussing about in the past, the refund policy also changed.

Unfortunate as is, you have to go through the modern junk of those audacious scammers at Beamdog. There are no originals anymore; only enhanced bull. The originals are game extras, much like "manual", "soundtrack", etc. We either take it or leave it, simple as that, at gunpoint. I was one of the lucky few to have bought the old package deals. You can wait for a heavy discount, buy the sheet, back up the originals and forget about all the rest ever existing. A mess and a disgrace, for such a great old classic masterpiece.
