I'm in BG2 now and facing more and more mobs that require +1 and up to hit. All of my characters with ranged capability have at least +1 slings or bows. How is magical component calculated? Would a +1 bow with regular arrows be a +1 magic weapon? Conversely, is a standard bow with +1 arrows considered +1? Little confused. Thanks.

Whether you can harm an enemy is based off of the ammunition you use - it's the arrow/bolt/bullet that's hitting the enemy, after all. Magical bows make it more likely that your attack roll will succeed, but if you're firing non-magical arrows, that shadow's still gonna ignore your hits. The only exceptions are weapons that make their own ammunition, such as Gesen's Bow or the Sling of Everard.

tl;dr - keep some magic arrows on hand for when you need to fight normal-immune enemies.

Oh, as I look closer at the info on the bow the adjustment is to THAC0 rather than damage. Doh. Thanks for that--I should've known that.
Just a note here, but there's a bug with the Arrows +1. They're considered magical and have a +1 enchantment, but anyone who's cast Protection from Normal Missiles will be immune to them. They work fine against Protection from Normal Weapons, and they'll work against shadows and the like. It's just an error in the item file; it uses the wrong projectile. Bolts +1 and Bullets +1 work fine, though.
