Hi!

I've taken up BG2 again after a a few years, but have encountered a problem: when I've loaded a save, the game will often (maybe 80-90 % of the time) immediately freeze, and I get a "program not responding" error, and I have to force the program to turn off. It seems to happen randomly; the same save may freeze a few times and then work and the other way around.

I installed it many years ago according to the "STICKY: Baldur's Gate 2 essential mods" thread on this forum, and have since upgraded much of the computer's hardware as well and updated to Win 11. I've looked a bit in the forum and tried removing .bmp files in the saves and clearing the cache folder, which did not help.

Any suggestions for solutions other than re-installing everything?
