So I am reinstalling my old BG1 and BG2 discs and looking to mod it at the very least to A) make it lok better on my new computer, and B) made it so things like kits, spells, etc from BG2 are accessible in BG1

The one problem is, I do not have the throne of bhaal expansion. So I am not sure what mods would be best to use or even compatible. And the few mods I found said I need to patch the games and I dont know where I can get the patches.

Without Throne of Bhaal, you will need Easy Tutu, they have a separate link for whether or not you have TOB.
http://usoutpost31.com/easytutu/

BG1 Tales of the sword coast patch https://www.fileplanet.com/40987/0/section/Patches/

BG2 Shadows of Amn patch http://www.moddb.com/games/baldurs-gate-ii/downloads/bgii-soa-english-patch-version-23037

Widescreen mod http://www.gibberlings3.net/widescreen/
(Note: Once you save your game with the Widescreen mod installed, you can't uninstall it or change the resolution without starting a new game)

For individual mods, some require TOB, you will just have to read the mods readme.

I'd just buy tob somewhere, most mods more or less depend on it
