I've got 2 minor issues I'm having with BG2. They're not game breaking whatsoever but are slightly annoying. I was hoping that somebody could help me out here. The first is the screen occasionally flickers to the desktop for a sec and then back to the game. The second is I get a bit of screen tearing when I'm scrolling across the map I'm currently on. So again not really a huge deal here but would love to fix it if I could. I've read a few things about v-sync and AA causing some of the issues. I have both of these turned off in my nvidia control panel. Thanks for any help you can give. Cheers!
The screen flipping to the desktop has nothing to do with Baldur's Gate. That is a Windows background task stealing focus from the game -- quit all non essential processes while playing games.

You want Vsync and Triple Buffering on if you have screen tearing in games, not off.
Thanks for response. Do you have any idea what background process it could be? I'm not even sure what I should be looking for.
It could be anything from your antivirus, to instant messenger, to a simple calendar/diary applet in the task bar/system tray. Only you can decide what non-system tasks you do not need. I suggest any and everything in the Sidebar for a start, as these kind of applets have very little scrutiny, and can cause all sorts of problems for games: they tend to look for updates far too regularly for one. Next, close any browsers and/or download managers, disable your antivirus and any IMs: you don't need them while playing games. The rest, as they say, is up to you.
