I've tried selecting the Max Hit Points button in settings to allow my characters to level up with Maximum HP in Baldur's Gate 2 EE. I only every get 3 Hit Points each level for my Fighter/Tank classes and 1 Hit Point for my Casting classes (Wizard/Cleric). What is going on? Is this a known bug? I've tried unselecting the Max HP, and selecting and the AI always gives my character 3 or 1. I have a 12th level Fighter with an 18 Con. I should be getting at least 14 HP each level. :(

It likely has to do with your character level. Can't recall offhand, but I believe for Fighters after level 9 or 10 you only get +3 HP per level. Similarly, with mages you only get +1 HP/level after level 8 or 9.
Yep, GR00T is correct. From level 10 and up all classes stop getting full HP benefits. Them's the rules. Fighters, barbarians, paladins and rangers get +3 per level. Thieves, clerics, bards, druids and monks get +2. Mages and sorcerers get +1.

Not at that level; 3 HP/level is all you get as a single class fighter at this point. (AD&D 1e and 2e have that rule; it's not just this game.)
Thanks, it's been so long since I've played 2E that I've forgotten that rule. Still really enjoy 3.5E and wish they'd make a new game like Baldur's Gate in 3.5E. I'm working my way through the old AD&D games, going through BG1 &2, Icewind Dale1&2 and the old NWN1&2. Some of the best games ever. I still have the original disk for Planescape: Torment. I can't wait until I work back to that. :) BTW with magic items and being a single class Fighter, I'm sitting pretty at 150 HP without spells. I can't wait until I can get some of the higher level Long Swords.

Beamdog is probably working on BG3 right now. Which means it will be 5ed, and therefore a giant plothole if any of the characters from BG2 shows up in it. The magic system in 5ed is what it is because of an event that happens 500+ years after BG2 ended.
