Companion AI is pretty bad. SCS documentation says it only improves enemy AI and NOT companion AI.

Is there a mod with improved companion AI?

Try that

Also try this for more options from other sites:

I am asking because I didn't find any. I did already search those sites

EDIT: After posting that I can't find any (for BGT; I really should have specified in opening post) I decided to look for mods for other versions of the game.
While pocketplane says there are 0 such mods for BGT, it lists 1 such mod for BGEE.
Going to that mods site however reveals that it IS BGT compatible and pocketplane is simply wrong in its listing.

The script pack in question is:

Of course, I don't know anyone who tried it so they might be really bad scripts. I will have to test them

The eSeries are very much improved scripts, for your player and followers. I have used them successfully in BGT.

OK, one never knows what someone has looked at before they post their question. :)

That's as far as my help concerning scripts will go, unfortunately. The first thing I do in every new game is turn OFF the Lantern! I've never used the "come with the game" scripts, much less third-party ones.

Hickory offered a useful suggestion though. :)
thanks, i will look at them soonish (currently debugging something)

Not even the script that makes thieves automatically hide or automatically search for traps/illusions every round?

I mainly want a script that has my theif act as an archer on nearest enemy, if none are in sight it should go into hide mode if it is still visible, if it is already hiding it should search for traps/illusions.

And the auto attack with ranged weapon command for mages is godsend, arang its called... very useful for just automatically getting rid of 1HD enemies without too many wasted clicks

Yeah, I just use the afight and arange scripts on my characters. I'll let them go crazy on normal enemies, and then turn ai off and go manual for tougher fights.

Nope, I prefer to control my own party. I know that the scripts can automate a lot of mundane tasks and such, and I did try them out for awhile in BG1, but I always found myself having to override them anyway, so I turned them off and have never looked back.

Now, part of this is the way I normally play... which is a bit weird. >laffs< Normally, I like to get all of the "kills" for myself [gotta love that 100% total on the record screen!] So what I do for most of my run-throughs is have my PC as the only character that can inflict damage on enemies. All of the other members of my party are limited to casting buffs, disabling spells, information spells and the like - nothing that can do any damage.

I call it "semi-solo" [although it's not really very "solo" since I have help] and use it since I *love* the Party interactions, romances, banters and flirts, but I also want to get that 100% kills and "solo" as much as my limited tactical skills will allow. So it covers what I want out of fights *and* I get all of the NPC stuff as well [which is what I really enjoy].

Keeps me entertained, anyway. Never seen anyone else who plays this way, so it is unusual, if nothing else. :) However, even when I don't play this way, I still don't use scripts or the AI...
that does sound like a pretty cool thing to do Lasivern

Well, I wouldn't try it with a Sorcerer... >laffs< but for any PC that can Tank, I find it very enjoyable. I'm not capable enough at tactical combat to use any of the Tactics-enhancing mods, but this makes tougher fights a wee bit more tough, without leaving me using Power Word: Re-Load continually... ;)

If nothing else, it has made me investigate and try out different spells for party members [to fit the criteria] and not simpl rely upon Fireball, Insect Plague and all of the other mass damage spells...
My new 'favorite' thing to do with new characters is to see how much exploration I can do with just myself and Imoen. It tends to get much easier if/when I make her a mage, simply because of how useful spells like Sleep and Web are against groups of enemies. It's definitely made me appreciate how much more useful mages can be when you don't restrict them to damage.

Indeed. In BG1, people can get much the same effect merely by taking Xan [ an Enchanter with no access to Invo/Evo] instead of the more usual Xzar, Edwin or Dynaheir. With no Invo/Evo spells in the party, one has to be more creative with both spell choices *and* tactics.

[note that one can also use Xan in BG2 through a mod. Check it out]
