Spoiler Warning (because it got cut off in the title)

I was doing the quest where I'm searching for illithium ore, and I had to go to the Slums to talk to the duergar. The thing though is that I brought Jan with me.

So, a friend of Jan walked up as soon as we entered the slums and told us about his sick cousin. So, we visit Jan's house and start our investigation. This investigation brought us to the inn at the docks, where we had to talk to the barkeep.

Our investigation was interrupted by us meeting an old enemy of Jaheira, who's hired goon wizards promptly put a curse on her.

After finishing our business at the tavern we went on our way. We knew that we still had ten days to cure Jan's cousin, while Jaheira's curse seemed more pressing, so we stopped by the government district to see if anyone knew about the wizards that cursed her. After that we left for the slums.

That was when Minsc realized that Boo was missing.

BG2 seems to like piling on quest after quest after quest...

Yeah, the game does pile a ton of quests on you when you're in the city. Not to worry though, as there are very, very few that are time sensitive. Just plod along and solve them as you can. You'll be fine. Remember to check your journal if you're overwhelmed or you get stuck (it's not organized particularly well, but it should at least have enough clues and info there to get you on track if you're stuck).
Ha! I've never had those three quests all happen at the same time.

And w/Boo going missing, sounds to me as if you got the Unfinished Business mod installed! Good on you, as that mod unlocks quests that the devs weren't able to finish, but left traces thereof within the game engine and files.

W/all those quests triggering at the same time, perhaps you may want to ask people on the forums of wherever you found out about the mod, as they may know how to adjust the inner workings, so the 'timed' quests don't all trigger at the same time, as seems to be the case w/your current playthrough.
