LOL... fan fiction up until the point the TV show out-paced the book series.

Anyway, now we can all take a bit of a chill-out I have no objection in principle ot the EE version or them making BG3, but I do have a STRONG objection to the classic versions being taken away from sale.

Anything I can do to campaign for their reintroduction to GOG/Steam I'm happy to do. Any petition. Any letter-writing campaign. Etc.

Fan-fiction after the show ditched the books you mean? The show followed the books for 4 seasons fairly well. After that is is just a series of shock moments and contradictions.
Your tears are as salty as the Sunset Sea.

Stig79: Yes. People have been sending mails to GoG, Hasbro and Beamdog about the bundling. A few posted the replies they got from Beamdog in this very thread too. They said GoG was behind the bundling and that Beamdog had no say in how their games were being sold. Which got contradicted by the post Beamdog posted here recently. Hence why people just don't trust Beamdog. People asked about the bundling on Beamdog's own forums too. The reply they got there was that WoTC had done the bundling. I posted a screenshot of it.

So yes. People have done plenty. Mailing every involved party about the bundling. Probably since last year. It hasn't worked, sadly. So advising people to e-mail beamdog, gog or WOTC is pointless. You are a year too late with your suggestion. People emailed WOTC and GoG a LOT, actually. since Beamdog said they were behind the bundling. WOTC first, then GoG got blamed for it later.
You misunderstood some things, but I really don't have the time and it doesn't matter enough to bother with.

I'll just say, I started this thread over a year ago, lol, so I'm hardly a year late. How do you know it's pointless? If you can suggest a better course of action, I'm sure everyone would love to hear it. Otherwise, besides my own email to Hasbro in the OP (to GOG in the Beamdog thread), I don't remember seeing anyone post their emails in this thread, other than the one to Beamdog a few months back. Many more people need to email Hasbro (and GOG - they haven't denied Beamdog's claims, afaik) and keep at it from time to time or it really is pointless and Beamdog's won...

plan99: So, back on track, have you all sent letters, periodically, to Hasbro (and GOG, just in case)? Beamdog's pointless, beamless and dogless.

Pangaea666: Can't claim to have done that. However, I've been saving up used toilet paper. The "writing" makes more sense than what the rapid dogs are capable of, so there is some chance they would take it as creative inspiration. Expect to see it in a game near you any moment. Possibly called Baldur's Gate 3??
Ha! Get that toilet paper sent asap!

Just to let you all know: I've sent an email not only to Beamdog, but to Hasbro, WoTC and GoG, but only Beamdog's response had something interesting and not just "Thank you for your message, I/we will forward it to the team etc.".

I even poked Beamdog with another follow up email after their "statement" and asked about the differences in thier answers, but no reply from them so far.

If it hadn't been pointless, Beamdog wouldn't have repeated their BS and then some. What they did recently, after people had contacted them and complained about the bundling for over a year, is that they took it a step further. The bundled PS:T AND removed the soundtrack from being included with the classic version. It is sold separately now. If you hadn't bought the Classic version in the past, your only option to get the soundtrack now is to pay extra for it.

they even blamed Hasbro and GoG for that stuff too. that bit backfired after that Statement Beamdog posted here earlier, of course.

When things get dumbed down for a casual audience, it is indeed a sad thing yes. Even sadder when the ADD generation praises it.
