I am curious about how you would compare these two games. (For clarity, I am here referring to the original Baldur's Gate, not its sequels.)

I am especially interested in opinions from those who played the games in order of their original releases.

You can't compare them. PoR is a Gold Box game, and PoR RoMD is a turn based hack and slash.
