The dialog pane shows visual artifacts (to be more precise, a lot of randomly colored dots - for its exact image please refer to the attached file) which also appears in other parts of the game screen where there is a black background. I have tried many combinations of graphic options in BG2 configuration window including the one described in this page: http://www.shsforums.net/topic/30840-ie-games-and-nvidia-series-8-video-cards/ (my video card is Nvidia 8800GT) but the problem persists. I also installed the Baldur's Gate II Fixpack and the Widescreen Mod but to no avail.

If there is anyone who had run into the same nuisance and eventually got to fix it, your help would be greatly appreciated.

It's standard, as shown in some screenshots and [url=http://talizorah.org/forum/index.php?topic=2225.275] here.
Thanks. I wasn't aware of that. However, if you save the topmost screenshot from the first link you provided into an image file and compare it to the one from the above post in any image viewer/editor at 200% zoom level, you'll clearly see that my game screen shows quite a lot more dots and that most of them are in brighter color. Seems like the actual display varies depending on the system specs.

Sure, there doesn't seem to be much of a difference between these two unzoomed and both of them looks bearable in the normal 800x600 resolution. But if you use the widescreen mod it becomes a different story. The dots kind of replicate themselves and because there are too many dots it practically covers like one third of the dialog box (you can refer to the attached file, but please keep in mind for whatever reason the dots shown in the image looks much dimmer and thus much less standing out than in actual game).

I personally find this hard to put up with. Any suggestions from anyone on possible fix or workaround for this issue are welcome.
