Does anyone else experience that the game is running too fast? Is it a clock speed issue? I played Baldur's Gate when it originally was released and I could perform actions at quickly as the game did, but since I downloaded the version from GOG the AI has NPCs performing about three actions for every action I perform and against the villains that is a problem. If you know what I mean, is there a way to adjust the speed? I would guess one of the ini files needs to have a speed adjustment, but I don't know which one.

Thanks.

My guess is you fought a mage enemy. In BG2 most mages get some instant buffs when they enter combat. So you will see some defensive spells instantly and simultaneously applied on a mage, while he's casting yet another spell.

If you're playing BG1, then I'm not sure if this feature is there, because it doesn't exist in original BG1, and I have never played BGEE. If this is not the issue at all, then I admit I have no idea what you're talking about.

If it's BG1 then the only thing that could change the speed of the game is 'frames per second' in the config. This game works best in 30 FPS, otherwise the whole game will be much faster, if you set higher number.

Keep in mind that everything is faster. Which means the duration for your spells will be a lot shorter. Also:

- there is a timed quest where you need to find the cure for a poison (BG1)

- and some underdark quest dealeys (BG2)

You will have a lot less real time to deal with these quests. I brought these two points up because I feel they are the most important, but like I mentioned above, everything is faster.
