This refers to 'Baldurs Gate - the original saga"

Hopefully someone can help.I visited Beregost, did some quests, then returned to the Friendly Arms inn. I can enter the courtyard, but anytime I enter a building, the screen goes black and the game freezes. Permanently. I tried fixing the save games with a Java app I heard about for some or other 'Beregost bug', but that did nothing. I tried turning on error logging, but no log seems to be produced at any point so no idea what the issue is. One thing: I installed and then uninstalled the wide screen mod - but that was the only mod I tried.

Has anyone had a similar problem

Landeril: Try reinstalling the game mate
Hi there - I have tried that, sadly nothing changed. I got to the same place, and it froze again. I have also removed all cached/temp files etc. Its something in the save games, but I have none from the time before I installed the wide screen mod (and I'm not sure how that would have broken anything - so it may not have been caused by that).

Tried not putting the mod in and playing? Completely delete the game. BTW This part in the game pisses me off completely.

Possible I guess - but no issues with BG2 etc (playing under win7 64-bit) . I think maybe the mod (which fiddles with files) changed something and that was recorded in my save file. I have no saves from before the mod. Next time I won't try any mods.

Only mod I used for BG1 was a pack for Drizzt
