Hi folks - can't get SoD to install. Whenever I run the setup, I instead get the error message "! The base game was not detected. Please install the GOG version. of Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition." The base game is most definitely installed, because I'm currently noodling around in the Nashkel Mines.

I have tried re-downloading the setup files, both via direct download and via the GoG downloader, re-downloading BGEE and reinstalling it, and am still unable to progress further. I suspect that for whatever reason the registry settings stipulating where BG:EE is installed are not being created for some reason and hence the SoD installer is erroring out; does anyone know what these might be so I can create them manually and hopefully get the installer to run? Or, alternatively, what mechanism the SoD installer is using to try and determine the install location of BG:EE?

Go to Control Panel and uninstall BG:EE completely (you may keep your saved games). It is very important that you do this properly. Now, you *must* download v2 installer, then install that cleanly. Once you've done that, the registry will point to the game correctly, and you may install SoD.

Thanks for the reply, however, as stated above, I have already uninstalled, re-downloaded and re-installed BG:EE without change.

If someone with BG:EE installed is able to export/post their settings under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\GOG.com\Games\1207666353 (I think this should be the correct path) I'd be grateful - by extrapolating from the other games installed I've now got the SoD installer recognising that BG:EE is installed, but I don't know what version number the installer is looking for so it's currently complaining that my game requires patching.
If you uninstall and re-install correctly you should have absolutely no need to poke around in the registry.

That would indeed be nice, however, as I have now stated twice this does not appear to be the case. I appreciate your willingness to contribute, but I have already done as you suggested - it being the logical first step - without success.

Then post what *you* have in your registry key.
