I heard about EET and BGT, and was wondering if it was possible to play EET without SoD, as I've no interest in getting it. I like the idea of playing BG1 and BG2 as a single game, despite never having played BG2 before and only recently having finished BG1 for the first time. Hopefully somebody's developed a way to run EET without needing SoD, as I don't get why the guy who made it never thought to make that an option as not everyone likes SoD and shouldn't have to get it just to run the mod even if they don't actually play the expansion part.

EET is "a modification for Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition that merges whole saga into one game and provides continuity between the events of Baldur's Gate, Tales of the Sword Coast, Shadows of Amn, Throne of Bhaal and Siege of Dragonspear expansion (also for both Black Pits adventures)." There is no way to install it without SoD as far as I know.

You can't use EET without giving it the cancer that is SoD.

I haven't used it yet cause I specifically didn't buy SoD, but maybe there is a way to just ignore SoD and skip it in game. If not atm, that feature should be added

You DO need SoD for EET to work.
But you don't need to play SoD part (example : here).
However, If you have NEVER played SoD, you should try it once (more if you like it :) ).

I'll wait till it is on sale to buy SoD, hopefully soon a new sale will be out for Black Friday or whatnot
