I placed the Big World file in the game's installation folder, which is "C:\BG2 - SoA\BG2 - SoA\". Then I created the CD3/movies folder and copied the ".bif" file. Then I created the text file like the installer's read me said. Next, I started a game for SoA and ToB and quicksaved them.

So, then I start the progrfam, placed a "-" under Baldur's Gate since I don't have the first game, and then selected recommended installation. However, when I click on the "..." button on the side nothing happens. Then I clicked on "Continue" which made it grayed out and absolutely nothing happens after this...I'm assuming this isn't normal? I can still change the options at this point and click back, and then click "continue" again, but nothing happens at all.

If I try to exit it doesn't work. It gets grayed out and nothing happens so I have to exit it from the task manager.

Any help please?

As of now I actually managed to bypass the problem by clicking on another file, not the original downloaded one. However, when it starts it says that I'm missing the movies25.bif file event though I do have it copied from the data/movies folder...
I am basically having the same problem. I have Baldur's Gate in digital download from GOG, so I figured it is already patched to the latest edition (is this an incorrect assumption?). I have Baldur's Gate II and Throne of Bahl from the original discs, Full Install, and patched them with the latest patch. Both are installed to a games folder and not in the Programs folder. I started a game in all three and did a quick save as specified. I am running Windows 7 (turning off the thing that makes it get permission for install). 500 GB of HD space, 8 GB of memory. Big world BWS_9_20110501. I run it and it goes through all the setup stuff and creates the files, and gets to the Bigworld setup screen. The very first time I ran it it had both BG and BG2 listed in their proper directories. After that, on subsequent attempts, it would not find BG 1 and I had to enter it myself. Select the install I want (Tactics), the hard drive light starts working, and nothing. Wait for fifteen twenty minutes, nothing. And it wont close without using task manager. Have also tried starting big world from Big World Setup and Big World Setup Debug Mode, with the exact same result. Any suggestions.
Oh, and have tried running Big World Install from my games folder that contains both BG installs, and in my BG II - SoA folder. same result.

And when I start the Big World Installer I get the error message: fetching programs-updates failed.
OK, downloaded another version of Big World, which updated itself and ran fine, downloading a bunch of med, until it got to the Embra of T.R.O.W. mod, at which time, despite saying it had finished downloading the 0.1 MB mob (the download file shows 0 MB) it froze and stayed there, refusing to move on. Now I don't know how to go forward. Any suggestions as I am well and truly stuck.
Started the downloader again and got this message.

Logging in as trow ...
Login incorrect.

Isn't there anyway to get past this program that seems to do nothing but sabotage the download.

Finally got it to work up to the black box batch file, then it starts a complete set of errors on the BG1 installation. This is the buggiest piece of garbage I have ever seen. Wasted my entire weekend trying to get it installed and nothing worked. So I guess it's a hand install of the Big Picture, since this thing is useless.
Does anyone actually come on here to help solve problems. This is my fourth night trying to install this thing, which has only caused more frustration. Clean install of everything, checked off all the files that it says I don't have, even though in some cases I do have them. But the one that really galls is the These selected mods are missing:

WeiDU (Tool) 229
Finished.

When I look in the debug file it says that Checking WeiDU (Tool) 229
Archive WeiDU-Windows-229.zip is missing. I made sure that I had this file, again, and got the message: Checking WeiDU (Tool) 229
The archive does not have the correct size. What in the heck is wrong with this thing and how do I correct this problem?
