I don't know if someone has any options to offer.

I purchased BG:EE through GOG. I had been playing the original version with no trouble.
But with this version, I keep getting a crash after pressing play.

I've tried through Galaxy, the icon, running as administrator.

I tried compatibility setting for other versions of windows, I tried the Itunes trick and updating the OpenAL through the game files.

I have a dmp file from the crash, I have been unable to read it (not the most skilled with this stuff, just want to play the game). But the file seems to be too big to upload and won't let me up the zip file.

I would appreciate any help anyone has to offer.

Thanks

Only thing I can tell you is that Win10 isn't your problem--runs fine here on Win10x64 build 14367, R9 380 4GB, Crimson 16.5.3.

Have you downloaded and installed DX9.0c...?

where is the game installed and what type of account (local or Microsoft) are you using?

I'd also suggest enabling Direct-play from your control panel legacy settings... press [windows key] + [x] then press [f] for programs and features... press the "turn windows features on or off" link and it should be under legacy components
I have exactly the same problem - laptop running Windows 10, with an older Intel integrated graphics chip (4500MHD) on which I can't update the driver.
I wish mine had crashed too.
