I played BGEE ages ago on steam. I don't even bother loading steam anymore, or ubisoft...I hate their systems.

I got BGEE on GOG.com (which means I've bought all the BGs like 4 times, once the original game discs, once on steam BGEE, vanilla on GOG and BGEE on GOG..)

Anyway I don't remember so many (really any) BGEE bugs on the steam version, but this version is massive wacky.

#1
Everytime I click on an item/equip etc. to pick it up the entire game 'jumps' meaning music stops and screen kinda skips a second. Is this a windows 10 thing?

#2
MOST annoying. In battle if my characters go into red hit points they fall on the ground and if I click on them they wont move or anything, they just stop responding. Even if I heal them with a cleric, their hitpoints go up but they stay pinned on the ground unconcious...also seems they can't die at all.. confusing. Maybe its like the anti-death thing bugging out?????? I turned it off but maybe its buggin gout??? what gives?

#3 many spell effects USE TO show icons, but many don't anymore, like blur....and it doesn't show up as a status for the character. It feels like its just all bugged out. Is this a windows 10 thing????

THis is really lame if this is the GOG.com verison, all bugged to snot. Or if its maybe a windows 10 problem?????

I think its pretty bogus for beamdog to be selling 'modernized' version of a game that isn't even compatible with windows 10.....that is just messed up.

Why all the bugs....?

Is the patch in the verison I bought or not? Is the GOG downloader working or not? Am I missing a patch and do I need to manually get it or something?

Why all the bugs, really...very disappointed in this order so far. My plan was to play pits 2 which i never played but wanted to get a party run through pits 1 to build them up with dualclass main character. But its all just too buggy.
I can't speak for 1 or 3 as I have not had these problems, but for #2, this is a mechanic that's used in the Black Pits because otherwise if someone dies, all their equipment drops, and then the battle ends before it can be picked up, that equipment would be lost. If someone is at 1 HP and is on the ground with a cyan/NPC colored selection circle, then you should treat them as though they were dead. They will be brought back when you return to the marketplace area.

The latest patch is 2.0.62.2. If that is not the version number displayed on the first screen of your game, then your game is not up to date.

I also was trying to do a dual class theif/fighter (starting as swashbuckler)...but I lost my 3 points of dual weilding and whe nI got to level 6, my thief level, I did not get them back...

This is LAME.

WHy is this thing so bugged out?

If your thief level is 6, you need to reach fighter level 7 to get those skills back.

(Also, just checking: It is your fighter level that is increasing, not your thief level? One person seems to have had the character's thief level increasing after class changing; that is clearly a bug.)

(Also, second person in just a few days to use that particular dual-class combo, which tends not to be used because it is rather sub-optimal in terms of hit points.)

Thanks,
yea I got it sorted out. Not sure about HP situation. Seems alright. I guess I'll know if I do 2 how important those extra HP were. Also thinking a thief wasn't really necessary. Coulda just went for another healer or something...if you don't really need a thief for pits then probably best is like-
Pali,archer,half-orc berzerker, dual fighter/cleric (fighter first for thac0 and mastery), cleric/illusionist, elfmage (or dual mage, figther first then all mage)
I like the archer for hitting the casters early in combat adn the half-orc berzerker for tanking into the DPS baddies, and the pali for the same reason. cleric/illusionist to buff before battle, then puto n the amor and be a heal bot. 2nd cleric for divine CC and damage and extra healing in a pinch and 2nd mage/main mage for arcane CC and damage.
In Blackpit 2 if you turn into a werewolf and won the arena fight then you can't even turn back to human thus you cant even talk to NPC to continue the story and stuck in limbo forever.

Blackpits are buggy fanfic messes.
