Quite sure this is the wrong place to ask, but just need a quick answer (and am at work, cant personally test)

I'm a huge RPG fan, 2015 and finally trying out some oldies, Picked up the Black Isle bundle and got BG1OS and BG2 Complete, installed EasyTuTu and the Widescreen fix as per the sticky mods thread.

Just start (to test before heading to work) in the menus it kept saying Baldur's Gate 2, this and that.
Am I playing BG1 or BG2?

EasyTutu found the two game directories and was a simple install. Just wondering if this is that it mean by BG1 with BG2 engine. (I know what engines are, just this question's been bugging me at work and I cant find a way to answer it from here)
(Mainly asking because I started the tutorial, but had to leave. In the description of the tutorial it stated This was for people that did not play BG1 and just the basics of what to expect in the Tutorial and that it should be skipped for people that played BG1.)
(Just reading too much into it? maybe or did I install TuTu in reverse somehow)

HyeVltg3:
EasyTuTu is a means to play BG1 only in the BG2 engine (you cannot play BG2 in TuTu).

BGT is a means to play BG1 in the BG2 engine, and then seamlessly transition into BG2, with your character and key BG1 characters that feature in BG2, retaining all of their experience and stats.

So you are playing BG1. When you start the game up, you will see in big graphical letters 'Baldur's Gate'. Underneath is an introduction text that says:
"Play Baldur's Gate with the new enhancements introduced by the Baldur's Gate II version of the engine.", then you get two large buttons. 'Baldur's Gate' and 'Quit Game'. When you click BG you go to the familiar BG intro quote by Friedrich Nietzsche, and then into the game.

then seamlessly transition into BG2
you mean that figuratively or literally ?

I'm just playing strictly BG1, when that ends, I can either Keep or Uninstall/Remove TuTu and resume the adventure from the original install of BG2 ?
OR
After BG1 ends, TuTu will move my "New Game+" into BG2.

...I have no idea why I'm making this harder than it seems.

Hickoy was actually talking about two different mods. The comment he made about seameless transitions had nothing to do with the mod you are using.

Tutu, which is what you are using, allows you to play BG1 with BG2's engine. That is all. Everything else for BG1 and BG2 behaves as you would expect it to and as two separate games.

BGT, or Baldur's Gate Trilogy, is NOT what you are using. Hickory mentioned it because BGT does something similar. BGT allows you to play BG1 in BG2's engine, AND it allows you to keep playing at the end of BG1 asif BG2 was the same game. In other words, you don't even have to exit the game and click on a new executable. You can just watch the final cutscene for BG1 and then transition immediately into the opening cutscene for BG2.

With BGT, literally. But you are not playing BGT, you are playing TuTu. I said in the very first line of my reply to you:
"(you cannot play BG2 in TuTu). "
My confusion and posting stems for the fact I just started and cleared the Tutorial last night, (no Im not slow, was just busy so played it in small doses at lengthy periods)
In it, it was always referencing BG2.
I assume this is BG2's tutorial? going by logic; BG1 doesnt have a separate tutorial ?

Just started the Prologue before this post and coming here for any updates.
Getting sent off by Gorion, need to talk to Green Monks for added game tips and tutorial.
Am I correct to assume this is BG1.

Yep, that's BG1's storyline. If you're playing it in Tutu its still BG1, but you're playing it with the BG2 engine. I hope that helps you.

The BG1 tutorial has you start out of doors, by Winthrop's inn in Candlekeep, where all the monks tutors are, yes. In BG2 the tutorial proper, where you actually choose 'Tutorial' from the menu, is more formal, and has you start indoors, in the Ducal Palace in Baldur's Gate. You shouldn't be able to play the BG2 tutorial in TuTu, since you are running BG1.
The prologue *is* the tutorial in BG1.

Again back to clarify. I am not an idiot(just need to get that out there, this isn't my first rodeo =D), this was my main reason I created this thread.
I Just cleared the BG2 Tutorial (the one in its own instance...in a 2-story house/Inn)
hence my confusion about all this. I dont want to be playing BG2 and then only realize it much later on.
These days my game-times are limited so I dont want to end up wasting them on playing "wrong".

Edit: Or more simply, is your character Level 1? Then it's Baldur's Gate 1. BG2 starts out at level 7 or 9.
