At first, I had a crappy error about openal, I've copied dll from system32 to game folder, and now I'm getting this:
The application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b)

Try to download and install OpenAL from the Beamdog site: http://www.beamdog.com/files/prerequisites/oalinst.exe.

I was unable to setup this ancient 2009 crap, win 10 was buzzing with errors like "i can't access system directory" even with admin rights. But i found a proper openall dll in Heaven Benchmark folder, lol. Now my game works.

Just for anyone with the same issue, place this dll in gamefolder:

If the game didn't start you just dodged a bullet.

For all of you struggling with this problem just get the openAL32 (32Bit Version) from:

dll-files

And copy it to your game folder, i've tried everything else (reinstall Directx and all that crap) but this one just worked fine.

Thank you so much for this help. I've tried to reinstall many times the game and it didn't work. Comes out the oanlist that comes with the game in dependecies folder wasn't installing the openal32 in the main folder for whatever reason so I placed it manually.

I've been through the exact same thing. Yw, mate, I'm glad to help. Now that I finished the game, remembering how hard it was to get it running makes it even more special to me.
