Hi
I just bought and installed BG2:EE, and some mods to it. I got to create the character, the game started, Imoen freed me from the cell, and after that the game just constantly crashes. And I do mean constantly, it took me four or five tries even to get to talk to Jaheira...

Are there some known compatibility issues with some of the mods, or is it the base game that causes this. I know I should have tried the game first without the mods, but it's too late now, so if anyone can help me, it'd truly be appreciated.

The mods I installed were:
Big Picture
Unfinished Business
Tweakpack (from Gibberling)
Fixpack (Gibberling)
Strategems (Gibberling also)

Not every feature from every mod, of course, just picking and choosing what I liked.

Do I need to uninstall everything and start from the beginning, or might there be an easier way to fix it?

Yes. The latest patch breaks most mods. Uninstall all mods, then install, and test, each mod individually. When the game begins to crash again you have your culprit/s.

Shit
That's what I was afraid of.

Well, uninstalling now and then let's see what I can and cannot use...

Thank you kindly for the reply.

Well, damnit!

It's still constantly crashing even without any mods... And running the game as admin or in compatibility mode doesn't help, either.

Did you start a new game? If there is a damaged asset within your saved game causing the crashes, then you will need to start a new game. If it crashes in a new game, with no mods, and you are SURE you have removed everything added by mods, including the override folder, then you need to look at either your installation or your operating system and hardware.

Yes, I tried also starting a new game. I also deleted the whole folder before re-installing, so there absolutely shouldn't be anything left of the mods.

Yeah, I have to start looking at the OS and my other software to find out what is causing the crashes...

Always start with security suites (AV, Firewall etc.), and don't overlook any Microsoft software or settings.

Play the classic version. Problem solved.
Well, now I feel a bit ashamed... The problem was simply outdated drivers for my graphics card...

Now to try installing the mods, see if they work or not.

But thanks a lot to Hickory anyway for your help.
