Hello there,

I have one slight problem with Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition. Mainly, when I try to change the language in-game to polish from the default english, I get a pop-up that I have to restart the game to apply changes. When I do so and restart the game, it goes back to english and it's the same as before. I've tried changing language in the baldur.lua as well but it didn't work.

Hopefully you can help me somehow
Kindest regards

Did you download the Polish installer? Does the game accept all other options that you modify? Try starting a new game and after that change the language.

It's a GOG Galaxy installation, without the default language set. The game accepts all the other options I modify and I've already tried starting a new game and changing the language afterwards - still without success.
No idea then. You might try the non-Galaxy version instead. Maybe it'll work there.
Well I think that the Galaxy version should work the same as the offline one. Strangely there was only one thread about it online and it sadly wasn't resolved.
There should also be a language choice in the GALAXY side of the game. That might be overwriting the in game choice.

There's only an adnotation that the language may only be changed in-game :(

That will sound a weird advice but try to change it to Polish twice. Change the language to Polish. Click Done. Close the game. Close Galaxy. Open Galaxy. Open game. Change the language to Polish again. Close the game again. Open and see if it works.

If above fails, close Galaxy and directly go to the game folder and run Baldur.exe. See if making the change this way (without the galaxy) will make any difference.

Also, it is a good idea to check if the polish translation folder is there, under the "lang" folder before running Baldur.exe The name of the folder will be "pl_PL"
Ok, problem is now resolved, the fix was to remove language files | do a complete reinstall. It worked like a charm :)
