I used the GOG Downloader to download Baldur's Gate 2 Complete. The download recently finished, and the GOG Downloader lists the download status as being "completed." My operating system is XP SP3. On my desktop are EDIT: three files:

baldurs_gate_2_complete_part0.gogDownload

setup_baldurs_gate_2-1.bin

setup_baldurs_gate_2.2.bin

The .bins won't open in 7zip through any means. What am I supposed to do?

The .bin file isn't supposed to be opened via 7zip (or any other program). Seems to me that the baldurs_gate_2_complete_part0.gogDownload file is supposed to be the setup file that you actually run, unfortunately for some reason it's not complete (even though it was marked as complete). Try downloading the .exe file manually from your browser, then putting it into the same directory as the .bin file, and finally run the .exe file - that should work.
Ah, that seemed to do the trick. I was afraid there was some other problem, or that the manual download was somehow different from the GOG Downloader version, and that I'd have to download everything again to try doing it manually. Since I'm away from home at the moment and have 250 kb/sec max download speed, that would take over two hours.

The game passed the file integrity check, is installing now and I assume it will complete successfully. Thanks very much!
Hello,

I just wanted to say that I had the same, exact issue on Windows XP SP3.

I am sooo glad that I found this post, because I would have been very unhappy if I hadn't been able to play the game.

I am a bit surprised this happened, because it is the first time I am having issues with GOG.

Anyway, there is a solution, downloading the setup file manually, and it works!

Be well, all :)
