My only experience with D&D games has been with Neverwinter Nights. I've always wanted to try the games that inspired it, but I wasn't able to get them(retail versions).

Now that I've got a credit card, I'm ready to buy them, and I was really excied hearing about the BG:EE being made. I thought I'll buy that when it comes out.

However, with the new GOG D&D sale, I'm in two minds. The screenshots from the BG:EE versions, don't seem to make too much of a difference from BG with mods.

Is there any point in waiting for the BG:EE? Are they going to add that much more content to an already huge game? Should I just buy the version on GOG and play that one?
I think you should just buy the versions here. Then you get BG2 as well. With mods, for example easyTutu, the game looks very, very good indeed, and there is something to be said for playing the original instead of whatever new characters and so forth the EE edition will bring. This D&D offer is so dirt cheap, it's well worth you money. Get at least BG, BG2 and Planescape Torment. The more you buy the cheaper it gets (sort of), but those three are the standout games.

Thanks! I already bought Planescape the other day.. Then I realized what the stacking promo really was, and I began kicking myself! At least, I paid 7$ for an amazing game!! So, I guess I'll get BG 1 & 2, Icewind Dale 1 & 2.. All of them have the Widescreen mods, right? Should I throw in ToEE as well?
Haven't really played ToEE, just 10 minutes or so, so can't say if it's good or not. But BG1, BG2, IWD1, IWD2 and PST is hard to go wrong with. All work with widescreen mod as well. And there are many good mods for all of them, that fix issues, add unfinished content, and so forth.

Personally I adored Planescape Torment. The best story in gaming, bar none :)

You should still get the reduced price considering you already own PST btw, if you buy more of them in the offer. It will just come up that you own the game already, and move you up one step of the price reduction ladder. Think all of them amounted to $30. I did that last time they had such an offer, maybe a year ago or so, and although I haven't played them all yet, I don't regret it.
I just bought the entire lot! The discount was too good to pass up! I got a discount for P:T even if I already owned it, so I'm pretty happy right now... Although my CC isn't!
Good stuff :)

Many great games there, so you will have tons of fun with them. I'm just trying to get back into my BG1 playthrough myself.
Well, it depends on how much you enjoy seeking out mods and installing them. That can take awhile, and there is always the possibility of getting the install order wrong and getting things broken. Still, at least that has the virtue of being free.

However, I am supporting the Enhanced Edition, because it makes the game more mod-friendly, has numerous bugfixes without needing to install fixpacks, runs better on modern hardware, and so forth. I want to support projects like this, so between buying the GOG version and the Enhanced Edition, I would have to pick the latter.

You made a great choice, man. A great choice. You're not going to regret it later, I guarantee it. :)
And besides, who cares about money when we have credit cards! ;) (I picked up NWN, but not had time to check it out yet. Now if only I could buy some extra time with my credit card...)

NWN is good! I had never even heard of the D&D games before. Then, I found NWN, Diamond Edition. I must have sunk over a 100 hours into them. This game made me fall in love with RPGs.. :D
