I've been looking all over the wiki and doing searches and I've been having a bizarrely difficult time figuring out what specifically is the consequence for pickpocketing or killing Drizzt in the encounter in Baldur's Gate 1.

Can someone lay it out for me in detail, or link me to a place that does?

Please give the answer to both (pickpocketing and killing), if you can.

Thanks.

The consequences, relating to your question title, is... nothing. No data is transferred from BG1 to BG2.

Regarding the theft itself, the consequences are:

Pro: Get great BG1 gear
Con: -9 hit to reputation
a quick internet search says your actions do carry over
You can meet Drizzt in BG2 - at which time you can tell him that you killed him (I think), or helped him, regardless of whether you did or not (it's an example of pseudo-reactivity you're given, like being able to ask a character 'Aren't you dead?')
It doesn't amount to anything though.

Edit: Checking the dialogue files, there is a line - possibly added by BGT mod - where he will mention if you attacked him and stole his equipment.
Global variable: "BG1DrizztItem, "Global", 1

Incorrect information.
This is really interesting to me, because I remember reading like 10 years ago that Drizzt has a problem with you in BG2 if you have his Scimitar.

So that's just not true and there are literally no consequences for it?

Not even for killing him?

Incorrect information. You *cannot* have Drizzt's scimitar with you in BG2 when you meet him.

It is true. There are none.

Not even for killing him?
I gave you the consequences: -9 hit to reputation.

Note that if you kill Drizzt in BG1 he is alive in BG2!

Elaborate, please.

The statement is self explanatory. Your gear is stripped from you at the start of BG2. When you meet Drizzt he has his scimitars. Simple.

Here's a more technical explanation:

At the start of BG2, before you gain control, there is a scripted event that removes every item from your inventory. This, in particular, means you don't get to keep that scimitar.

Now, if you're not playing the EE, it is possible to keep that scimitar by accessing your inventory before the scripted event occurs (you need to be quick here) and then dropping the scimitar on the ground. Or, of course, you could just cheat the scimitar into your inventory with the cheat console. However, the developers were obviously not expecting the player to do this, and therefore probably did not account for this possibility.

If you somehow have the scimitar when you meet Drizzt in BG2, the game will most likely be oblivious to that fact (I would be surprised if not). Drizzt won't say anything different, and he will still have the scimitar, meaning there will be a duplicate of that item. Now, killing Drizzt in BG2 will result in someone coming to take the equipment you took from him; I do not know if he'll take that scimitar you glitched or cheated into your inventory.

Also, from what I've read, in at least one of the games, if you name your character "Drizzt" the real Drizzt will accuse you of stealing his name (or something to that effect), and you will get different dialog. (I don't know if anything else changes here.)

You might be able to bypass the event by importing directly into Throne of Bhaal, but doing so will also skip the Drizzt encounter, so you won't encounter him while carrying his scimitar if you do this.

Wrong. This is an explanation:

Thanks for explaining that, dtgreene.

So there's a consequence if you take his equipment in BG2, not if you take it in BG1! That explains my confusion.

Maybe it is just a mod, but I am a little curious about this:
